October 2026 – “Monochrome” – Judge: Lewis Katz
Criteria: Our world is full of dizzying amounts of color. Shooting in monochrome can strip away some of the distraction. Monochrome allows the photographer and viewer to focus on composition elements of shape & line, the interplay between shadow, light and textures, expression of emotion and feeling, in a very different way than color photography. Images must be monochromatic (black & white, sepia, selenium, cyanotype). Your choice of subject matter in both nature and pictorial is wide open.
