Next up in our ongoing club outings will be on April 30th. We’re planning on a doubleheader event so there should be something for everyone. First in the morning we’ll be meeting for the Sheep and Wool day at Springton Manor Farm in Glenmoore, PA. There will be plenty of photo ops of farm animals, farm demonstrations, and sheep shearing during the day. The new baby animals are in the barns for the kids to pet, and as always the Springton goats will be posing for portraits. Admission is free and there is free remote parking with a short bus ride to the farm. We plan to meet at 11:30 in front of the Manor House which is on your right as you enter the park. You can get more information about the event schedule and directions to the farm at their website https://www.chesco.org/2307/
Later in the day we’ll be close to “home base” at the GoggleWorks for the annual Iron Pour & Forge Fest. The Forge Fest is from 2 to 7pm followed by the Iron Pour from 7 to 10pm. Blacksmith demonstrations, food and music will keep everyone busy during the day. We’ll plan to meet later in the day at 5:30 to prepare for the Iron Pour at 7:00 where there will be plenty of heat and sparks flying for us to photograph. More info on the festival can be found on the Google Works web site at this address. https://goggleworks.org/event/
So if you like the soft and fuzzy stuff join us in the morning at Springton Manor then finish it off with the hard pounding anvil action of the Iron Pour.
Hope to see lots of new faces at our next outing.
