“Best of the Year” judging and critiques by Henry Rowan from among the award winning images from the 2025 Berks Photographic Society competitions. Eligible winners of this event will be submitted to the International Michael Day Competition in January 2026.
Henry has been the judge of our Best of the Year Competition since December 2020. Henry is a national award-winning photographer and a frequent lecturer and judge throughout the region. Several times during the judging, Henry reminded everyone that his judging represents his opinion and that we may not agree with all his comments about our photos. He said that it is important to remember to have fun with your photography. As in prior years, Henry’s judging was very educational with comments and suggestions about individual entries. He again went into Adobe Photoshop and Camera Raw and edited some of the contest photos. He described how he would change a photo and then showed us the before and after versions.
